Reflections from the Las Vegas Licensing Expo

Last month, the Alchemy team proudly attended another year of the Las Vegas Licensing Expo. We headed over for three full days of back-to-back meetings with both our trusted licensees and a host of exciting new prospects.

The flight over was surprisingly quiet, the most part of it spent sleeping to allow us to attend the show as fresh as possible, and our waking hours we spent reviewing upcoming meetings. But one thing struck us: where was everyone? The notoriously full flight was far from its usual capacity. We discussed the recent tariff changes on goods manufactured in China and wondered if this might affect the show’s attendance. With a little apprehension, we braced ourselves for a potentially quieter expo.

To our relief, the show exceeded all expectations.

Our schedule was full and our meetings highly productive, with many new admirers of our artwork stopping by to introduce themselves and share their businesses. We were genuinely grateful for the enthusiasm and interest, leaving the event inspired by fresh ideas and valuable insights from a diverse range of industries. Along the way, we discovered some incredible products that align perfectly with our iconic Alchemy artwork, opening the door to exciting new possibilities. Interestingly, we learned that some of these products are actually exempt from the new tariffs, and many companies have found creative ways to manufacture locally. This adaptability was inspiring and encouraging for future collaborations.

Beyond the show itself, we connected with people we’d met throughout the day, including a fellow passenger from our flight who was there as a first-time exhibitor. He shared insights into his innovative business, sparking ideas for potential collaboration, and we agreed to stay in touch. This was just one of many valuable connections we made-from our very first flight to the final day of the trip.

Las Vegas itself is nothing short of a film set- unique, surreal and unforgettable. Over good food and conversation in the blistering 38-degree heat, we discussed our onward plans. Now, we’re following up on all those inspiring conversations and looking ahead to the autumn show in London. We’re excited to reconnect with our licensees and discover what new opportunities lie ahead. There’s nothing quite like collaborating with partners to bring more Alchemy-branded products to life.
