\"\"<\/a>New York\u2019s golden age of glamour and jazz is being revisited at the movies through a reworking of F Scott Fitzgerald\u2019s famous novel The Great Gatsby. It\u2019s by no means the first cinematic version of the story but this time the challenge has been taken up by Moulin Rouge director Baz Luhrman with actors Leonardo DiCaprio and Tobey Maguire in the main roles.<\/p>\n

Set in the 1920s, the romantic film recounts the life of Jay Gatsby, an entrepreneur and socialite whose extravagance captivates his aspiring author-neighbour. These tales of decadence, love and deceit are written down as part of a memoir, that the author eventually titles \u201cThe Great Gatsby\u201d. It\u2019s all set to a very modern soundtrack with music from acts such as Jack White and Florence + The Machine.<\/p>\n
